Thank You for Supporting SPIN on Help Them Home Giving Day

On April 26, SPIN (Serving People in Need) and 24 aligned nonprofits partnered with the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) for Help Them Home, a collaborative online giving day to support efforts in combating homelessness and its devastating impact on the Orange County community. Thanks to 130 generous donors, SPIN raised $194,606 to support at-risk and homeless families in Orange County.  In total, OCCF’s Help Them Home Giving Day raised $2,243,947!

The funds raised support SPIN’s programs focused on helping families with children secure stable housing and get on the path to self-sufficiency. In 2022, SPIN assisted 918 households totaling 3,307 people (1,510 adults and 1,797 children).

“We have a lot of work to do and because of your generous support, SPIN can continue to provide much needed security to families in need,” said Stephanie Smolkin, executive director of SPIN. “Thank you to all who contributed to the success of Help Them Home Giving Day!”

In addition to SPIN, other participating organizations included American Family Housing, Casa Teresa, Inc., Charity On Wheels, City Net, Colette's Children's Home, Inc., Families Forward, Family Assistance Ministries, Family Promise of Orange County, Friendship Shelter, Inc., Grandma’s House of Hope, HomeAid Orange County, Homeless Intervention Services of OC, Illumination Foundation, Mercy House Living Centers, Orange County Rescue Mission, Inc., Our Father's Table, Pathways of Hope, Robyne’s Nest, South County Outreach, StandUp for Kids, Orange County, The Eli Home, Inc., The Salvation Army Orange County, Thomas House Family Shelter, and WISEPlace.
